Okay, so this post is probably a couple of years late. For those of you who didn't know already, I'm practically MAD about Pop Surrealism. I think nothing would make me happier than to have a magical key of my own that could unlock the door into the amazingly bizarre world that this art movement has to offer. Of course, I have a long list of favorite artists, but unsurprisingly, on top of my list are husband and wife Mark Ryden and Marion peck.
Here are some incredible work from Mark Ryden...
...followed by the works from his just amazingly talented wife, Marion Peck...
Can you imagine the things these two talk about in their daily conversations?? To have so much talent and imagination under one roof must be surreal! Each day is sure to be a bizarre and inspiring experience for this family. :)
Anyway, here are the couple's official links, in case you'd like to venture deeper into their neck of woods:

Until next time! :)

Drawing Frenzy
Oh dear, oh dear. It has been too long since my last post, hasn't it? Sorry about that, I don't have any specific excuse for it, just the fact that I have been so happily busy creating away in the studio. You know how it is...you start a piece one morning, finish it, then another idea comes along, and you just can't stop! So here's what my pencils and I have been up to all week....
The first drawing is already sold, so I'm pretty happy about that. It's always such a wonderful feeling when someone appreciates what you do, enough to want to take it home! :) The second one is available in my shop, and the last girl is still an ongoing working progress. It's strange how suddenly her face came out so much more realistic and older than the other two before her. It even took me longer to finish the face and the hair... I just kept coming back to them, adding layers after layers until I was truly satisfied with what I saw. I have a feeling this one is going to take a lot longer to finish too. :)
On a different note, my shop is having a special huge sale on original works right now. Some of them have already found new homes to go to, but there are still more available before the sale ends this Sunday before noon EST. So come, make haste, it's not very often I let go of my babies with a high discount! :)
Anyway, I hope you all had a good, productive week. Don't you just love that feeling when you know you've gone an extra mile and now ready to unwind, soaking in all the peace that you deserve? Well, here's to a wonderful restful weekend to you... see you next week! :)
Warm hug,

Little Red and The Wolf
Now, who doesn't love Little Red Ring Hood? Other than being such an iconic fairy tale among all ages, I think the story itself is one that should always be taught to children for its undeniable wisdom and morals. It's no surprise that the story could live on through generations until today and especially popular among artists all over the world.
I started working on my new standing paper dolls of Little Red and The Wolf a few days ago after I reread the story online. It was so much fun trying to recreate the characters and I have no doubt that this won't be my last attempt. In fact, I'm thinking of creating a whole forest diorama...if time allows it! Wouldn't that be awesome, though? I remember making a set of dioramas based on Sleeping Beauty in college and I would definitely say that it was one of the most memorable moments of my scholar experience. :)
Anyway, this duet is now available in The Wish Forest, eager to find a new forest of their own. And now on to the next project... which characters do you think should I create next? :)
