As the Curtain Falls

Last week, I was fortunate enough to finally take a little quick getaway. It wasn't something we'd planned perfectly. In fact, it was the first trip we had after a while. Having an uncomfortable 10 months old baby in the car for long hours was tough and my exhausted mind and body were not cooperating at all. I think this particular trip deserves to be bookmarked in my What to Do and What Not to Do Guide as a Mommy of Three. :))

However, by the time the ocean was in sight, everything seemed worthwhile. The baby whining, the children bickering, the headache, all just slowly melted away and disappeared. Everyone stared outside in silence as we drove across the beautiful coastline.

I myself, have always thought of the sea as bewitching, especially at sunset. Unlike most people who loves to visit the ocean when the sun is high up in the sky, I prefer to pay my respects when the day is at its end and the waves are serenading their farewell song. There's a kind of magic that seems to linger in the air. As if all creatures stand across the stage, bowing with the last applause. I'm just glad I got to watch the curtain falls this one time, especially with my loved ones by my side.

So how about you? Any quick getaways on the horizon? :)

PS: Thank you to my lovely husband for taking these breath taking pictures. OXOX

Nature Inspired

I miss walking barefooted on soft green grass
prancing on an open field and dancing my troubles away...

****************

Hi all. I have been away for a few days trying to cool my head a little and trying to prevent myself from stressing out because of work and everything else. I've been dreaming a lot of nature... tall trees, birds singing, and fresh air filling my lungs. Isn't the world generous? Whenever you're feeling crowded in the head, all you need to do is look around and you'll find abundance of beauties to be thankful for.

Anyway, I'll tell you all about my little getaway as soon as I'm done unpacking. :)

Love,

Sponsor Love ♥ On a Crafty Afternoon

Wow. It's Friday already! Shucks. I think it's always a bad sign when I say that, which means I've let the week flown by too fast and that I've forgotten to slow down again. Well then, let's pause a minute and have a little relaxing fun. While some people might find relaxation in front of the TV or get busy in the garden, I prefer  to visit my craft corner and make some mess. But before I do that, I would find some kind of inspiration just to get the creativity juice flowing. This time I'll turn to one of my lovely sponsors for that!

The Crafty Pixie

Want to know who The Crafty Pixie is? Her name is Annie Hagopian, and she is as sweet as all her adorable creations! As you can see, she loves to create fun and pretty things, and most of her felt work strongly show the Japanese Kawaii influence. Her shop is loaded with plenty of cute and lovely trinkets, ranging from jewelry to ornaments in adorable characters and cheerful colors. Come visit her shop and Facebook Page to see more!

Now that I'm all fueled up with some inspirations, here's a peek into my one quiet and therapeutic crafty afternoon...

There you have it, a little crafty mission accomplished. Well I know it's nothing like Annie's but at the end I got a happy recipient and a relaxed mind. Not bad for a 30 minutes project, eh? :))

So don't forget to slow down a little. Friday isn't over yet...who knows what you might accomplish at the end of the day. Have a good weekend, everyone!

Sponsor Love ♥

Hello, hello, it's me again. Despite the gloom I've been having lately, I'm determined to hunt for little rays of sunshine to feed my grumpy soul. Good thing I'm blessed with plenty...just needed to find them in the right places! LOL! So here goes a couple of my lovely sponsors to brighten up my day, and yours too! :)

Shirley Ng-Benitez

I have known Shirley from the early days of my blogging adventure, and the first time I saw her work, I remember falling in love immediately with her most beloved character, Monsieur Olivet. Within his world, Shirley has created such a warm and magical realm of woodland creatures that I'm sure has captured so many hearts. As a children's book illustrator, Shirley is incredibly imaginative with her character designs, creating some of the most lovable characters I've ever came across. To find out more about her work, follow her blog or visit her shop and find yourself in a magical world!

Rose Hill Designs

Rose Hill Designs is created by the very lovely Heather Stillufsen, an artist with a passion for children's illustration. She loves to draw and paint, finding inspirations in pretty things and her two daughters, Summer and Saylor. Her whimsical style is shown in all of her illustration works, showing adorable girls and boys, but most of all little animal friends that are both sweet and lovable. Heather has a line of children and nursery art in her shop, a place I know you'll love to see!

Well I don't know about you, but I sure feel a lot more cheerful now! I absolutely LOVE children's illustration, can never get enough of reading books with oodles of pictures in them, so this post is just what I needed for that dose of sunshine.

I hope you're having a lovely day wherever you are! :)

Color Therapy

I've been feeling a bit on the gloomy side these past couple of days. Work is still waiting to be done and things at home are on a very demanding streak at the moment. I was telling my husband how much I need a vacation, preferably somewhere nice and colorful so I can shake off the nasty grays that's been hanging above my head lately. But of course, a vacation will only remain a dream, at least until my baby is old enough to stay with Grandma and Granpa while mommy takes off to wonderland! Haha! :D

So what does a poor miserable girl do to get cheered up in an instant? The only thing she can do...turn to her paints and splash some colors around. Seriously, if you had seen the state of my table after I finished painting these girls, you would have nodded with approval at the wide satisfied grin on my face. :D

I guess that little color therapy will have to do for now. How about you? What kind of artistic things do you do to cheer yourself up when you're feeling on the down side?

Happy Monday, everyone!

NOTE: These original ACEOs are now available in my shop.
