About me

Well hello there. My name is Amalia.

I’m a visual artist, self taught doll maker, an art devotee and craft enthusiast to the core. I work from the comfort of my own home ever since I had my daughter in 2003 and nine years later (with two boys added under my wings), I can't imagine having it any other way! When I was little, I found true love in fairy tales and grew up in a whimsical world, the two things that inspire my work the most. I love the simplest things in life and if I had my way, I would spend hours sitting under a tree just dreaming my day away with a sketchbook and a pencil in hand.

I started this blog at a period of my life when everything seemed to be going downhill, and I'm happy to say that it's probably one of the best decisions I've ever made in my entire life. This blog has become a special space for me. A space where I gained friendships, faith and hope. Here you will find snippets into my life, work, inspirations and passion for art. So if you love art as much as I do, I know you will find a tiny haven here with me.

Welcome to my happy place!

XOXO

  6. Hello Amalia

What a pleasure to meet your wonderful blog!
Your work is one of the best i ever seen.
I love illustration to, but never took art lessons, never had possibilities to it, so, it is a hard way to draw decent doodles. And you, had you fine arts lessons or had you been self-taught artist? Would like to know if it is possible for me to improve my skills alone...
    Thanks for your attention
    Best wishes
    Rosa
