aww this is so lovely!! Boy she stands so fearless alright! I can just smell the sharp, salty air, and whipping wind! I LOVE your cliff and beautiful words!
I do love that you incorporate text in your works! I am a typography fan and always getting enthusiastic if I meet somebody with similar tendencies :D I also like the combination of pen (?) with the pastels, very nice detail!
Whoooooaaaaa! your words! And then I start commenting and read Mita's words! You two are the rain and Monsoon of inspirational art. This illustration is terrific but mind you I am a little bit acrophobic si I will probably be crawling on the edge. But look at that! You gave her wings. I wonder if she can fly? Let me try!
Very Lovely Amalia! Love the way this wonderful work draws my eyes in a circular motion... taking it all in. You and Mita should get together and do a combined show. What a wonderfully magical compilation of beauty that would be.
Yes Jack, my little sister is quite a talent isn't she? A combined show sounds like a wonderful idea, though I've had a premonition that somewhere along the line she would cast an ugly spell on me out of mischief.. you know how witches are! Heehehehe...
Wow, you ladies are so poetic (and I can barely string a few words together!) This seems so tragic yet uplifting at the same time. There is beauty in every emotion I think.
nancy drew-nya belom di-instal, tapi hari ini mau. aduh gw deg-degan nih bisi ketagihan maen bukannya kerja, you know Nancy Drew rite? gw inget tuh kamu bebelaan nelfon gw masalah bom pada pintu sial itu :D you remember? edan yg ini kayanya gotik abis teh, dan 2 cd aja gituh... pasti begadang nih...
Aha, so you are sisters? :) It all starts to come together now.
Amalia, this is very special. I feel silly writing things about it, but I really admire it as a work that you discover things in - the more you look, the more you get (unless you get arrested first) - well forget I said that.
I meant, things like the birds tail feeding off the decorative border :)
But all your work rewards further inquiry.
:)
I'm just off to babel fish mita's remarks.
Ah here it is, the translation: "Nancy drew once said, "when I wear yellow socks the bus driver stares at me oddly, like he is a fox (wolf?). you remember? That makes me feel strange, but I still wear them. I don;t know why.... maybe it's because the other ones are in the wash...."
Well, Monsieur Finnie, since you are very intelligent, indeed, I will only speak in riddles... :)
She and I are sisters by destiny, not by blood. Through a binding pledge and the branching of a tree. Though she is the rain and I am the wind, we both crave for the same light.
How's that? HAHAHA....
Of course, you are welcome to inquire anything you'd like, although most of the time you already seem to have the answers anyway...tsk! (Yes! I'm rolling my eyes at you!)
And now why do I have the feeling that you were talking about your own yellow socks?? That bus driver had better keep his eyes on the road, it's not safe to be staring at a "beautiful man who's had a liposuction...on his nose??!" (Shocking!!)
Now this is fearless at it's very best. This picture says so much! How delightfully wonderful indeed! You are a genius with a pencil. Amazing!!!! There is a storyteller in you!!! Wonderful! Hugs V
Wow Amalia, This is a very beautiful drawing with the poetic words that complements the image. I love how the image has a sense of freedom and a spiritual feel. Really magical work!:)
Gorgeous to the nth degree! Oh my, your words and the drawing are so very powerful. Such beautiful clouds. I love your limited and muted colors, save for the fearless girl. I can hear the winds wooshing, and I love how her skirt mirrors her wings. Absolutely beautiful, Amalia! You make poetry with your art.
Lovely <3

ReplyDeleteAmalia, sometimes your work just tears my heart out, you know that!
ReplyDeleteLike Krista said, this makes me feel both tragic and uplifted, how do you do that?!! Yes, you and Mita are quite the combo, I'm lousy at poetry!
I just love the muted colors in this, the delicate scrolls, and how they are mirrored in the bird's tail.
Beautiful my friend!

ReplyDeleteWow! That's wonderful poetic prose.
By the way, the pinocchio was a self portrait - but I have a longer nose.
Beautiful - it reminds me of a character in "Gargoyle" (kind of new novel.)
ReplyDeleteWow Amalia,
