Discovering a Hidden Treasure!

Look at what I found today while cleaning out the dusty boxes up in the attic! It's my very own first recipe book! Ever!!

I remember getting this book when I just started out second grade, which was almost 27 years ago!! (Ok, you can do the math...). You know how kids like to claim their properties?? Well, it appears I did too..

Just take a look at the wonderful illustrations... I think this book was translated from a Japanese book, since that was the trend back then. The recipes also include traditional cheese cake, a very popular cake with Japanese people, no?

Even better, this book is actually good for little cooks because it shows illustrated step by step instructions, and they are all just adorable! (click to enlarge)

I guess I just wanted to share this with you... I still can't believe I've had this treasure all along... a piece of my childhood! Now I can give it to my daughter and continue the cycle...

Have a blissful day, everyone! oxox

  3. Whoaa! First, what are you doing cleaning the attic? Second, I see Anak, in my language anak means child. What does it mean in yours?

  4. Hahaha!! Ces, I show you this, and you ask me why was I cleaning the attic??? Actually 'anak' also means 'child' in my languange. Wait, I thought you speak tagalog? At least I read it somewhere in Mita's comment.

  8. Just popping in to wish you a HAPPY SISTERFRIENDS DAY! There is no housecleaning on Sisterfriends Day, so no more trips to the attic.

  21. What a wonderful treasure to pass on to your daughter, Amalia! How wonderful!! It was meant to be. Look at all of the detail! I just read your previous post - my how difficult it sounded when you were adjusting to life in London...I can't imagine having to adjust to all that you experienced..but what a journey you have had and can reflect upon and now add pieces that you love to your daughter to continue on in her future. I love the illustration now in your blog header..so thoughtful and beautiful. Many thanks for posting..it's wonderful to visit you!
