After dark, comes light
After silence, voices speak
After grief, enters life

My dedication for the grieving victims of Mentawai - Merapi disasters.
Hope and faith, always.
All images are available at my shop, where you can still reach out and help donate for them.
Again, my warmest gratitude for all friends who have bought my original black and white drawings. Your generous donations are deeply appreciated.
My best,
Amalia oxox
You are back to your roots of pastel! I love these colored versions too. They all reflect the sadness surrounding the disasters. Hope you and your loved ones are well.

Lovely & touching.
ReplyDeleteI love them, I love, love, love them...
ReplyDeleteThese are each so very beautiful. You have such a gift with color, texture and spirit! Sending healing light to your country.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, blessings to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful! What a generous gift!
ReplyDeleteWell to comment on the beauty of these works seems innane compared to what has happened...
ReplyDeleteBut may I?
The top one effects me the most. It has that resonance, emotion and determination that we feel is in your own character.
A worthy self portrait.
Who said we spend our entire life painting ourselves?
very beautiful :D
ReplyDeleteI wonder; are these real people you've based them on... are they you? Or, as well, I could see them as inventions to get your point(s) across.
ReplyDeleteIntriguing.
I like the whole series - both coloured and in black & white. I like these girls with beautiful, sad eyes, having seen dreadful sights, with their souls hurt, but strong and firm. My favourite is the first one.
ReplyDeleteDear Amalia, I hope everything with you, your family, relatives and friends is O.K. I wish your country will never go through such a tragedy again!
I admire what you did - you, the Artist! Kisses!
These are so beautiful and moving. I hope that the survivors can find some peace soon. Hugs, Lauren
ReplyDeleteYour art seems to take on a whole new feeling when you add colour to it. These are beautiful as always and I hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteAnd after the black and white, comes the color. Equally as beautiful and poignant.
ReplyDeleteHumanity and charity are the silver lining to such disasters. My heart sinks when I read about the victims in Indonesia and Haiti.
How are you, dear Amalia? I hope you are well.
xoxo
Your works are stunning. Wow. What rich color, and movement! I hope your family and friends are all OK, and I'm sending healing thoughts to your country. All the best.
ReplyDeleteoh I didn't know you have them colored :D
ReplyDeleteThe second one from the top is really beautiful, especially the soft pastel tone. so lovely!
all the best to you and your family!

ReplyDeleteI like the new, enigmatic header. The key to your mourning heart is your art!...x
