I have been playing "make over" with a few animal friends....

Sometimes...(once in a blue moon), I like to go through my old work and compare them with my latest ones. Unfortunately, I often get itchy fingers (nasty thing!) and start to believe that some of them are begging for a change. So of course, being a good friend that I am to them, there's really nothing else I could do but to make them happy, right? (^_^) How about you? Do you like revamping your old work?
Wishing you a blessed weekend!
Amalia, oxx
I love the changes~~subtle but so RICH!
ReplyDeleteyes....*sigh*....if things hang around here long enough they either get changed or cannibalized into another project, or gessoed over. (that's actually a good one due to the texture the underpainting provides!)
Most serious artists do this...no shame! And if the second tinkering doesn't work, well, tinker more! ;-)
XXOO~~

i love these; the owl is my favourite, absolutely stunning; i too revisit old work, and play around a bit.

ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteThe works are all beautiful, I love the depth ane tone you've added.
The detail is wonderful!!
These are all lovely Amalia; that rabbit has always been one of my favorites.
ReplyDeletegorgeous both ways!! I do love the rich color change to the puddy tat!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the change to the rabbit ?
Love your stuff girl.. your new shirts are fab!!
Hello, Amalia! I like the "bettered" versions of your artworks, although I'm a great fan of your colour pencil drawing!!! I find it amazing! Maybe it's only natural for an artist to explore new ways of expression - I think it's the same when visual arts are used in a stage performance for example.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say about myself? Throughout the years I'd been invited not once or twice to put on stage a performance I had already realised somewhere else. Well, every time I made changes, due to the time that had passed and the new level of my own development I had reached. Last year, while working upon "The Sreadfast Tin Soldier" for a second time after 9 years, together with the scenographer we "bettered" the scenery and the puppets. Thus my interest was fresh and I could say new things with the play...!
I love them all. The owl is beautifully mysterious, and the cat and rabbit are so adorable in their "people-clothes".
ReplyDeleteYour revisits to these have really made them even more stunning! I go back and add more to old work occasionally. I wonder then why I didn't do it in the first place but I guess you sometimes need time away from familiar images to see them again objectively. These are fantastic!xx
ReplyDeletehow wonderful to see your changes... i don't think i have ever done this. i have picked up an old piece and completed it. each of yours are wonderful.
ReplyDeletelovely day to you~
Hello Amalia, how are you? Good? Yes, that's good! Ahh you are a fiddler :)
ReplyDeleteWell good on you! I never name my layers and have so many that I can never go back and fiddle because I cannot find the layer I want to fiddle with (there is a moral there, :) ) for me at least.
The owl for me comes up so much crisper with the vignetting, the way it follows the curve of the head and leads the eye back into the work...
sorry I have been busy so not around- though I am more 'round' :)
I can still reach the keyboard though :0
Love the delicious contrasts! You really made these guys happy :o) Thought it was impossible to improve these works.... but you did the impossible Amalia! God bless
