A couple of days ago I received a message from one of my friends asking if I had an Instagram account he could follow. I said I don't, and he asked why. I asked him why I should, and he said most people today do, so he just assumed that I would. To that, I could only laugh and told him that he obviously doesn't know me that well. I've never been one of those people who did things just because others did. Some may say that I'm uncool for not keeping up with the popular social hypes, but unless I really need to or find some joy in them, then I tend to just keep walking (which should explain why my Twitter account lasted only for a couple of months. LOL!).
However, to some people, I can see how Instagram is quite an important necessity. Especially to someone like my friend (and sponsor), Geri Centonze. She's an artist, blogger, geek (so she claims to be!) and most of all an iPhoneographer, shooting and manipulating digital images through the touch of her iPhone.
What I love most about her work, is that she uses ordinary daily life images and turn them into amazingly artistic pieces by using various applications in her iPhone. Her abstract works can start from a simple photo of flowers to something as plain as a lock. Definitely things you'd least expect to be the base form of an artwork!
